WSVA radio allows students at the School of Visual Arts in manhattan a chance to test their abailities in the area of radio broadcasting. Any student or faculty member can apply to have a show at our station and what they air is totally up to them. Our station is open from 10am till 10pm Monday through Friday, and anyone on the school's network (any of the main buildings, some of the dorms) can listen in live, All of our shows are totally open format. DJ's can come in and talk about sharks for a hour if they so please. They are free to voice whatever they deem appropriate. We have capabilities for in studio performance. If a DJ wishes to bring in a guitar or bongos or whatever else they can come up with we have the equiptment neccesary to allow them to broadcast to the campus. The DJ's at our station are unpaid, however we like to reward our crew with free movie passes for their hard work and dedication. We also shower them in love, and they are usually the first to find out about upcoming ticket give aways provided to us by Ticketmaster. WSVA is quickly becoming THE place to meet new people at SVA, we cater to a large diverse comunity, and there is always someone around. So come hang out, check out the other dj's schedules, and have some fun. We are completely dedicated to being a place where students can just come to relax and meet new people.
